Named after the Dhofar region of Oman, the ancestral home of the world's finest frankincense, Luban Dhofar is an homage to the sacred resin in its purest form. Frankincense takes the leading role here. Its bright, citric, resinous character is given structure by Cedarwood and depth by treemoss. The cedarwood provides a woody backbone which is dry, clean, structural, while the treemoss adds a mossy, earthy richness that grounds the composition and prevents the frankincense from becoming too ethereal in flight.
This is an attar for the wearer who understands frankincense as more than a single note. It is, in our reading, a landscape: the arid mountains of Dhofar rendered in scent, with the trees and the moss and the stones all at their proper distance from the eye. A meditative composition at a friendly price.
